10 years

I have been reflecting a lot on how much I have changed over the last 10 years. From 28 to 38. First, let me say that from 18-28 were the best years of my life in many ways.

Physically, I am about 30 pounds heavier, and I have lost some hair. I could still dunk 10 years ago, and now I can't even touch the rim. I had dorky glasses and I dressed like a typical "youth worker" guy. Lauren was 4 and we had Daniel when I was 28. 10 years ago, I was where Adam and Tyler are now in many ways. The future was very bright.

Life was pretty good then, but the last 10 years have worn me out. Life got hard and much more complicated. I wouldn't trade the last 10 years, because they have shaped me in a lot of ways, but I am hoping that the next 10 will be better.

When I am 48, I want to be much more secure and satisfied with where I am in life. I am trusting that the Scriptures are true when they teach us that God rewards those who seek righteousness and goodness.
